It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop will be a night of socially, economically, and politically conscious music and poetry. Mainstream radio largely ignores many of the large issues surrounding us, issues ranging from economic and political oppression to environmental issues. Music is a powerful medium, and here at GRadio.ca we want to cultivate a conscious and active music and community.

In doing so, It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop will be a benefit concert for the iHuman Youth Society, an organization whose mission is to “work with traumatized youth who exhibit high-risk lifestyles. [They] promote their reintegration into the community through social support, engagement and outreach programs involving crisis intervention, arts mentorship, and life skills development.” This is an organization we all support and are more than happy to raise funds for.

We will be collaborating with the Hip Hop in the Park Foundation to bring you a night of conscious music and poetry, live from Brixx Bar and Grill
