Short of Able

Short of Able has spent the last 8 months recording and producing The Last One’s Gone and it is to be released on October 20, 2012. Being recorded and produced entirely by the band; it is genuinely an in-house product. The album features 15 songs and is an ambitious follow-up to the band’s debut, which promises to push Short of Able towards greater success throughout Canada.

Short of Able is a product of the Edmonton indie music scene. Though many artists influence the band, Short of Able has developed its own brand of acoustic folk-pop rock that is less definable than many bands. The band has the ability to strip it down and play to quiet intimate crowds, or put on a high-energy rock show. The combination of the two really comes together on their upcoming release – The Last One’s Gone. This album features several head bobbing rock tunes, a few stripped down sing-alongs, and a mixture of each throughout. There’s truly something for everyone on this album, including a hint of alternative country on the track Last Call. The band will be touring western Canada in support of the new album, beginning October 25.

Short of Able released their debut full-length album ‘Far Away and Out of Sight’ on April 2, 2011. With its release, the venues started filling up and Short of Able gained opportunities to play several out of town shows in Alberta, Saskatchewan and B.C. Along the way, they’ve been well received at cafes, clubs, and festivals, and have shared the stage with the likes of An Horse, Girls Girls Girls, The Wheat Pool, Yukon Blonde, the Details, Craig Cardiff and Current Swell.
